There are loads of different Dragon Priest lists with different tech cards in but this list has an interesting choice – Defender of Argus.
And, this Thijs Dragon Priest w Defender of Argus went 8-0 at a recent tournament win so it’s proven. A lot of Priest lists lack that little bit of extra burst to trade up or finish an opponent, or stopping aggressive decks going face. This tech choice sorts this out.
There is also a Holy Nova instead of a Dragonfire Potion for a little extra healing and more tempo on board. It’s a really strong deck against all the other META decks, give it a go.
This is the Kolento Dragon Priest Gadgetzan Release. Loads of new cards in this build, like Drakonid Operative, Dragonfire Potion, Kabal Talonpriest, Kabal Songstealer, and Potion of Madness.
Dragon Priest received a massive buff with the new Gadgetzan cards, and it’s actually really good vs Pirate Warrior. I’d tech in some weapon removal in the current META too.
This is the Thijs High Legend Karazhan Dragon Priest Deck he was playing on stream today. Refreshing to see a Priest deck being played in the top 10 legend ranks, and with the addition of new cards like Book Wyrm and Netherspite Historian, I think Dragon Priest finally has all the tools to be a top-tier deck.
The main area this deck falls short in on direct damage. You can get your opponents painfully low on health and struggle to finish them without minions on board. Play for board control first, then removal second.
Book Wyrm is proving to be insane value. There are almost always targets with 3 or less attack to remove. There aren’t many spells for Dragonkin Sorcerer, I think I’ll swap that for something else.
