How to Beat Professor Putricide – Knights of the Frozen Throne

If you’re after a cheap, basic deck and how to beat Professor Putricide then check out this guide.

The Prof is a frustrating boss to beat. All his secrets are free, and he plays plenty of them for you to navigate and workaround.

If you have cards that destroy secrets, like Eater of Secrets, Flare, etc, then add those for added help, but the list below gets the job done as you’ll see.

Sindragosa is actually a little tricky to figure out – until you know a trick or two as revealed in this video.

There are some cool OTK decks like silence priest and spell damage burn decks, but if you want to complete this level on a budget all you need is this budget Priest list.

How to Beat Lady Deathwhisper – Knights of the Frozen Throne

The battle against Lady Deathwhisper is a frustrating one without the right cards in your deck.

She reduces the health of your minions to 1 each turn, and unless you heal the 30/5 minion on your side of the board you can’t attack with it.

This is how to beat Lady Deathwhisper with a really cheap Priest deck containing mostly basic cards, so anyone can build the deck and complete this mission quickly.

Best Knights of the Frozen Throne Legendary Cards to Craft

The Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion has some interesting, and powerful legendaries.

The changes to pack openings now mean that we can’t rip open loads of duplicates, which is awesome.

But with 23 new legendaries, you will need to open almost 500 packs to pull 23 legendaries on average!

The best way to make as many competitive META decks with your budget is to dust the bad legendaries and craft the best legendaries.

Here are the best of the bunch from the new expansion – Knights of the Frozen Throne.

Best Knights of the Frozen Throne Legendary Cards to Craft

Neutral Legendaries

The Lich King

The Lich King HS Legendary Card

This guy had to be really strong, and it’s kind of nuts.

The Death Knight cards are incredibly strong, and the 8/8 for 8-mana is pretty decent.

It’s a better Ysera, can fit the Medivh slot if concerned about weapon removal, and will be a staple in a lot of decks – you need this card.

You can see all the Death Knight cards The Lich King generates here.

Death Knight Portraits

They made the Death Knights strong for most classes and almost all are playable. If you really like a certain class you can probably play the Death Knight and have a 50%+ win rate, here are the strongest of the bunch:

Malfurion the Pestilent

Malfurion the Pestilant HS Druid Death Knight PortraitDruid received some powerful defensive tools in Knights of the Frozen Throne and this Death Knight may be the best of them all.

The Hero Power is +3 attack or + gain 3 armor, with the new taunt cards Druid is going to remain one of the top classes.

Uther of the Ebon Blade

Uther of the Ebon Blade HS Paladin Death Knight PortraitI love this card, it combines healing with an insanely powerful hero power and a bunch of fun.

If you play midrange or control Pally this is a must inclusion.

Shadowreaper Anduin

Shadowreaper Auduin HS Priest Death Knight Portrait CardYou will clear all the threats on board and add a hero power that does 2 damage. Synergies perfectly with the new lifesteal mechanic and pushes control Priest decks up a notch.

Frost Lich Jaina

Frost Lich Jaina HS Mage Death Knight PortraitProducing Water Elementals with lifesteal in a class that needs healing and a little extra value in the longer games opens up some interesting deck building ideas for Mage.

Bloodreaver Gul’dan

Bloodreaver Gul'dan HS Warlock Death Knight Portrait

Warlock is back in this expansion, summoning all the demons that died in the game combined with some of the other new cards is insane.

Class Legendaries

With Death Knights being so powerful the class legendaries feel a little underwhelming.

Maybe that was a deliberate ploy on the designers part, maybe not. Either way, there are three that are really impactful and will be played for sure:

Hadronox

Hadronox HS Druid Legendary CardThe blueprint for the strongest Druid archetype has been laid out for us by the cards released in this expansion.

It’s all about the taunts and being defensive with control archetypes.

So dropping Hadronox late game is a huge value play.

Sindragosa

The tokens summoned by Sindragosa generate random legendaries, so combined with the Frost Lich Death Knight card you have a ton of value for control mage.

It’s a dragon too which is worth noting.

Bolvar, Fireblood

Bolvar, Fireblood HS Paladin Legendary Card

I think this is one of the sleepers of the set. For 5-mana and 7 health this guy will stick on board, then it’s just up to you to pop those shields.

Using this guy as a 5/7 or 7/7 isn’t going to be too hard, so a good inclusion in aggro/divine shield decks.

Which Knights of the Frozen Throne Legendaries to Dust?

With every new expansion comes a bunch of new legendaries, but they are not all worth keeping and some will never be needed in competitive decks.

With the new pack changes we will not be opening a bunch of duplicates to dust, so it’s even more important you dust up those bad legendaries and use the dust to craft the best ones.

Here are some of the legendaries from Knights of the Frozen Throne that will not see serious competitive play. Dust em’, recycle, and make some of the best legendaries from Knights of the Frozen Throne:

Death Knights to Dust

Deathstalker Rexxar

Deathstalker Rexxar HS Hunter Portrait Card

Most of us wanted to see some awesome Hunter cards to make it a Tier 1 class again, but this Death Knight isn’t the card.

It’s a value card with the Build-a-Beast hero power, but Hunter isn’t a value class.

Should be good for some meme decks.

Thrall, Deathseer

Thrall Deathseer HS Shaman Death Knight Portrait

Another card that puts fun before winning, Thrall, Deathseer.

Only playable when you have a board, the evolve mechanic is inconsistant, to say the least, and you lose one of the best hero powers in the game.

Class Legendaries to Dust

Archbishop Benedictus

Archbishop Benedictus HS Priest Legendary CardThrowing a copy of your opponent’s deck into yours means you have no real plan or idea how you’re going to win the game.

Good luck!

Lilian Voss

Lilian Voss HS Rogue CardRogue has awesome, cheap spells. Swapping them for random ones is more likely to disrupt your win condition than increase it.

Combined with Ethereal Peddler in a burgle deck there is potential for some RNG memes.

Neutral Legendaries to Dust

Prince Valanar, Prince Taldaram, and Prince Keleseth

The trio of Prince cards open up some interesting deck building ideas, but they aren’t strong enough to be auto-includes in any types of decks. Worth more to you as dust.

Wild Tier List August 2017: Best Wild Format Decks

The wild META has been a little stale over the last couple of months but a shake up is coming when Knights of the Frozen Throne is released later this month!

Until then here are the best wild decks to play in August. The lists are well refined now after having a few months with the same cards.

The Tier 1 decks are very strong, if you can play two or three of them well you can counter the META and hit high legend.

Wild is a lot less competitive than Standard and a great place to make use of all those powerful cards banished from Standard.

If you just want to play the strongest decks and get to legend as fast as possible these are the decks to use.

Have at least two of these decks and change between them depending on the META and most common opponents.

Wild Tier List May 2017: Best Wild Format Decks

With the top 64 on wild May ladder qualifying for a Wild Tournament, it looks like Wild will be a lot more competitive than normal this month.

If you’re new to Wild, the META is a lot more volatile than Standard format. There are some solid Tier 1 decks however, so if climbing as fast as possible is your goal check out this list.

Which Journey to Un’Goro Legendaries to Dust?

With Journey to Un’Goro now fully released and all your gold and dust used, do you have all the legendaries you need to make the best decks?

I know I always seem to get a bunch of the worst legendaries and dust them up to make the ones I need. It sucks that you have to disenchant 4 legendaries to craft one, but it’s worth it for the best cards.

You can check the best legendaries from Un’Goro here if you’re not sure what to craft with your dust. Here are some of the worst legendaries from the Journey to Un’Goro set that aren’t going to be an auto-include:

Journey to Un’Goro Legendaries to Dust

Elise the Trailblazer

Elise the Trailblazer HS Card

Maybe there is a home in control Warrior for this Elise, but it’s not likely and it’s a slow card for 5 random cards that may not even help.

Hemet, Jungle Hunter

Hemet, Jungle Hunter HS Card

There are a lot of cards better than this one, seriously.

Disenchant this guy asap.

Lyra the Sunshard

Lyra the Sunshard HS Priest Card

It’s a shame that Priest got a pretty bad legendary again.

It’s going to be hard to get this minion to stick with these stats, and relying on random spells to win you the game isn’t a good idea. It didn’t work out for Lock n Load.

Sherazin, Corpse Flower

Sherazin, Corpse Flower HS Rogue Card

This card is way too slow, and then getting it back after playing 4 cards in a turn isn’t even a huge reward.

Pyros

Pyros Elemental HS Mage Card 2 ManaA situational card at best, the vanilla stats per its mana cost will likely cause you to lose tempo and fall behind.

If you get this I’d dust it for a better card that will see a lot more play.
