The resident Hearthstone Tempo Mage expert has been at it again hitting the top spot, this is the Asmodai Cosplaygrill Rank 1 Legend Tempo Mage Sep 16.
Cosplaygrill hit rank one legend last month with his Tempo Mage list. The best decks are always evolving and changing with the META and this list from Asmodai has a few tweaks that make this list even more effective right now.
The Arcane Explosion is an interesting card, but helps vs all the aggro Shamans on the ladder. The double Tome, Emperor, Archamge, greedy top end means this deck can outvalue a lot of control decks. The Forgotten Torch adds even more burn, and after playing it for 20 or so games I can confirm it’s incredibly strong.
I’m having a tough time vs Druids, but have a positive win ratio vs all other classes.
This is the Cosplaygrill Ironforge Portal C’Thun Warrior Deck he was playing on stream today. Ironforge Portal is a great substitute for Shield Block. Summoning a random minion is fine for a C’Thun Warrior gameplan, and often better than cycling a card with Shield Block as a lot of games go to fatigue.
Here is another Babbling Book Mage deck. This is the CosplayGrill Babbling Book Tempo Mage Deck he was playing on stream and when I was watching he was in top 5 Legend ranks, which is pretty insane so soon after the release of the new card.
I prefer this over the Reynad Babbling Book Mage list. It makes sense to have the Emperor Thurissan and Archmage Antonidas and slow the game down a little.
You can control the board early and reduce a load of spells to do some crazy Archmage turns or just burn away with Flamewakers.
Mulligan Guide for Babbling Book Tempo Mage
Mulligan for those cheap early removal spells, 2 drops, and the Babbling Book. You can drop Babbling Book at any point in the game, the spell is random.
This is the CosplayGrill Karazhan Malygos Druid Deck he’s been playing on stream the last few days. Credit needs to go out to Fr0zen for coming up with the list I think, or at least playing it before Cosplaygrill.
It’s much less greedy than some of the other versions going around with Barnes and Gadgetzan Auctioneer. You can play on almost on curve and overwhelm a lot of opponents that way instead of trying to combo and cycle your way to a big finish.
I think this is a much more refined list, try switching up whatever list you’re playing and see how you get on.
Mulligan Guide for Malygos Druid
As always with Druid you want that early ramp vs most opponents. Vs Zoolock and other hyper-aggressive decks keep as much removal as you can to push the game into the later rounds.
Don’t hold on to the Moonfire if you’re under stress on the board. This deck has a lot of win conditions and you won’t win by using Malygos + Moonfire’s that often anyway.
This is the CosplayGrill Karazhan Tempo Mage Deck he was playing on stream today. AsmodaiTV has been playing a lot of Tempo Mage with subtle card changes. Mage has become a stronger, and much more popular deck since the release of Firelands Portal.
This list has one less Mirror Image in favor of more late game. It’s a slower Tempo Mage list than the standard builds, with Cabalist’s Tome and 2 x Faceless Summoners. You’re going to play Yogg-Saron most games, so start believing in the Yogg!
If you’ve never seen a CosplayGrill stream you’re missing out. He’s a really skilled player, and entertaining too. He streams under the name AsmodaiTV on Twitch.
This is the CosplayGrill Barnes Rogue w Questing Adventurer Deck he was playing on stream today and broke into the top 100 Legend.
This deck doesn’t use Malygos for the burst damage like the Sjow Miracle Rogue deck w Barnes. You’re looking for minions like Tomb Pillager or Bloodmage Thalnos for the extra cycle or coin for Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Or, a free Emperor Thaurissan is always going to be nice.
This is the CosplayGrill Firelands Portal Tempo Mage Deck he was using on stream to climb from the dumpster into the high legend ranks <100.
Firelands Portal is an interesting card that’s still being tested but does seem to have a home in the slower Tempo Mage deck lists like this one. This deck has Emperor Thaurissan and Ice Block, so it’s built for the longer games than the heavy burn Mage decks.
